A lot of emphasis is put on saddle comfort without much thought to bridle comfort. Conventional bridles often sit too close to the horse's ears, 'cutting' in to them when a contact is taken up. The leverage then created by the rider's hands down the reins is substantial by the time it reaches the poll. The discomfort can then be considerable when a bit is added. Tight uncomfortable bridle cause many horses to have a miserable ride particularly when schooling and competing. Helps to alleviates much of the painful poll pressure and irritation caused by conventional bridles.
*This bridle has an extra wide padded headpiece* Non-crank noseband to avoid excess pressure and irritation around the delicate nasal region. BRASS fittings on the Brown (Australian Nut) bridle. Billet hook fastenings. There is no doubt that fitting the noseband strap over rather than under the headpiece and padding the poll area avoids placing harmful pressure on the vulnerable underlying soft tissues.
